Its not that we are jumpy to criticism.. its we are jumpy to unfounded Illegality accusations. Especially in light of certain Belgians...

Back to your product though it is very exciting and i have two questions if you dont mind:

    1. When do you project it will be ready?

    2. Will there be a special Morphos launch price??

I have seen it playing today. But I've got some issues with my machine that will let it freeze now and then when a SB Live is in a PCI slot. Since onboard audio is not working yet, I can't continue testing. Hopefully a new gfx card will solve the issue.

I think a price of 49 euro for such a product in this market is already a bargain (it used to be 149 when Computer City was selling them). And this price times the number of people that wanted to buy it in the poll (+aros sales) was also the decision-maker to do the port in the first place.

    Hey DaveAE!

Great work! Nice to see AE4 port on MOS. Is there some supports in MOS Mac Mini for other audio than the built in one?

    Hi Dave,

Does the morphos version of AE4 support simultaneous multi track recording? Also is there going to be external device support utilizing firewire ports to enable the use of presonus and similar type equipment etc.

    cheers good work.

Yomgui is currently working on a FW stack. He told on another forum (meta-morphos.org / french morphos site) this :

    Possible : 100%
    Doable : 10%
    In 5 years : 1%

He is working on FW disk device support right now.

Maybe he will release a SDK for device development. There is some open source FW sound card drivers that can help writing a device I guess. But still : it is a hell of work.

I would even pay for :)

The MorphOS version is of course exactly the same as the OS4 and AROS version. AHI does not support multi-track recording and AE4 therefore doesn't support it either. AHI has been open source for over 5 years (perhaps even 10) and there hasn't been anyone updating it.

External support is a matter of AHI drivers and not of AE4.

Thats a real shame.... Ah well.

    @ Bigfoot

Do you want some pizza for an AHI upgrade? LOL :)

Well I would still be interested in getting a copy of AE4 anyway.

    Cheers

AHI is open source so in theory really anybody could develop AHI further.

No kidding? of course anyone can work on it. I can pretty much assure you that the last thing bigfoot would work on is AHI..

Is anyone aware of sources for Envy24HT based audio cards (keep in mind I'm in the US)? I've tried to find a Terratec Aureon Sky, but I'm not having any luck. The only M-Audio or Terratec models I'm finding use different audio chips.

Edit - M-Audio Revolution 5.1 supposedly available at:

    http://www.audiolines.com/Studio-Recording/Computer-Audio/Audio-Interfaces-Sound-Cards/PCI-Audio-Interfaces/M-Audio-Revolution-5.1

ESI Juli@ also appears to be available (@ fairly high prices), but it is one of two cards listed without input gain control

Yeah! Audio Evolution 4 is now available for sale.

BTW - Still not having much luck finding supported Envy24HT based sound cards. Again, anyone else know of a decent source?
