Question about E-UAE

I setup E-UAE and it runs properly when i launch it from shell.

But i tried to setup the X-ADF. I put it in the correct folder and i set the paths properly but whenever i try and click on an ADF file i get " Failed to load Kickstart image kick.rom"

The paths are correct (as far as i can tell) and i have kick.rom in the roms folder.

    Any help?

Could you have used a Amiga Forever kickstart rom ? They require a keyfile along in the same directory.
Not sure how this will act on E-UAE but anyhow, it's worth a try .

    (edit)
If this is the case you must add this:
    kickstart_key_file = disk:/dir/rom.key

Where and how did you set the rom path?

Either in commandline or in config file), make sure to use PROGDIR:roms/kickblah.rom. If you only use a relative path, it will fail depending on the current directory in ambient context.

I also tried E-UAE ... doesn't that archive have some kind of docs ? So far I didn't pass the 1.3 kickstartscreen and that's about it.

This is why from time to time threads like this occur clamoring for an all in one automagic install that will allow Morphos users to just double click an icon and launch an app/game.. f.ex an .adf file. Yes, i know you can do it but its way too much configuration for average users.

It's way to difficult to find out for the average user... a simple gui wouldn't be a bad thing.

There's no such average user. All MorphOS users are uber-awesome computer users, at least.

Not really, but if someone is using MorphOS imo he had something to do with Amiga or AmigaOS in past. Meaby I'm wrong but configuring euae is really easy..

Everything is easy if you know how to ... there is no (usefull) documentation at all in the archive you can find at morphos-files.net

Yesterday I download E-uae from OS4 depot because it has documentation ... didn't have time to look into it further but I hope that can make things a little more clear.

There is a bonus/readme.morphos that explains how to configure the filetypes supplied in the archive. This is explained again (and more up-to-date, considering this UAE archive pre-dates MorphOS 2.0) with screenshots in that obligement article.

And i also supplied useful presets files in conf/ directory for A500/A1200 and Workbench use.
