    Hi Davey and everyone

Just wanted to post up here and ask people to suggest potential projects and applications for using AE4 on Morphos..

Here's what i'd like to do:

Record 60min live DJ sessions from my turntables and Vestax mixer to the Pegasos with Ae4 as 1 continous track and then make that sample into an audio cd.

How easy is this to do on Ae4 and what would be the process?

What I have done in the past was almost the same: record a 60+ min live recording from minidisc into AE4, then use the Regionize function to automatically split the songs and then use 'Export to BurnIt'. However, BurnIt may not be used or even work on MorphOS so I don't know how applicable that is. You could save every split part of the big sample to disk and burn that to CD I guess.

AFAIK, BurnIt works well on MorphOS.

When you record 60 min. you'll have a 60 min. 16-bit AIFF file, ready to be burned to CD. But once you do that, you'll have 1 track, so you can't jump to 'song 6' for example. You would need to look up the timecodes and enter them in your burning program (if possible).

To make that process easier, you can set Locators (time markers) in AE4 which can be exported to BurnIt. And to make setting Locators easier, there is this Regionize functionality that will attempt to do it automatically for you, but there need to be some silence or lower volume between songs. Worked well for a live band, don't know how applicable that is to DJ recordings.

If none of this is possible could you not just cut the wave form into tracks and save the mix downs as separate tracks then burn the cd with the tracks in order as a GAPLESS audio cd?

    That's also possible of course.

Something like you said would probably work. Is just a question of how to do that as i've nver used AE before. Its important it be Gapless becuase its a DJ demo cd!

As I remember, it is possible to set (track-) indices in MakeCD when setting up an audio CD project. So you could load your whole file in MakeCD and edit the CD layout there to your taste.
MakeCD runs fine under MorphOS and it?s free since some time.
