    Hi,

setting a button object to disabled gives poor visual results (ghosting of child object)
when the button itself is a group object (e. g. an icon and a text placed inside a group,
the group set up as a button).

Ghosting is not nicely rendered neither when using buttons with rounded corners because the
ghost effect stays rectangular and this doesn't look good at all.

Are there any prefs settings that I'm missing?

I include a screengrab were it shows it.

The same thing has been bothering me too. :-x
Everything else is starting to look good in MUI4 but the "ghosting"-effect is still the same ugly-as-hell dotted pattern from the 80's as it was in MUI3. Reaction doesn't have this "cosmetic issue", even Zune does it properly...

    ah ok!

Could any of the MorphOS/MUI4 developpers please consider this request and have some
solution implemented perhaps already for the next release?

    Thanks in advance.

    @ all

I didn't know but there is a new beta of MUI4 available on:

    http://www.stuntz.com/muibeta_20090331.lha

This beta includes also prefs for ghosting :-) :-) :-) which is very nice, even rounded buttons
are ghosted nicely! The beta though is to slow for every day working so I hope that this
feature will be included in next MUI4 together with MorphOS 2.3

Just tried out the beta myself and indeed it is nice. Didn't seem too bad speed wise but seeing as it's a beta I decided to revert back to the mui released with MorphOS 2.2.

    Hi,

would it be possible please to have some ghosting effect prefs/options included into MUI 4 because the standard one renders really not nicely at all and neither does take care of the shape, e.g. rounded buttons.

    Could you please consider this?

    Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend to use those betas for daily use or some improved eye candy, really. The MUI4 version included in MorphOS 2.5 has been tested & fixed in various regards and is the recommended version to use.
Anything you find elsewhere, even beta versions on some stuntz hp, will sure cause trouble in various ways.

    @ pega-1

yes of course I'm not using them, only original components which come with the MorphOS 2.5 distribution are installed here!

I just re-asked, what I've asked for aver a year ago, if it would be possible to add prefs for that, would be great.
