recently i've borrowed a pegasos 2 from a local user (thx ratman!)
in a happy mood i've connected my hdd inside the "new" peg an waited to use my beloved morphos system in a few sec. ofcourse its not what happened.
what happened that i have 4 broken partitions on the hdd. the boot (ffs), dh2, an sfs and 2 os4 ffs partitions. i dont really care 'bout the os4 parts but the dtat on the dh2 part is important. i started sfsdoctor and started a reapair session but it crashed (went to meditate...).
before that i saved a metadata file and have seen the file structure of dh2 in sfsdoctor. after the crash all files are now gone. find lost objects halted at 25%.
any chance for me to get my data back from that partition?
i really wonder what the heck happened with my peg that not just killed the machine but also my 4 partitions out of 8. well, we can say 50% is not that bad after all:)

From what you've told me in person, I guess you tried to write to your SFS partitions from 1.4.2, after you've managed to boot that. IIRC, there were some changes in 1.4.4 or so, which made write operations incompatible. Using an older boot image to write those partitions could really do some *BAD* things to your filesystems...

chain: eh??? you mean booting to 1.4.2 cd wasnt a good idea? however i dont remember if i tried to write anything under 1.4.2. and its still no answer why the 2 os4 parts are broken...

Well, i forgot to mention that the DVD drive in the machine you've got is not 100% condition, so replacing it with another drive before trying to boot anything might be a good idea. But in the end it did boot every disk after a few (10+) tries... :)

As for your partitions, something definitely punched them. Booting an older system might be the culprit, as there was at least one (but possibly even more) change which could cause such. And i don't see how SFS partitions made by OS4 would be an exception from this.

    Es igen leesne bazdmeg! ;)
