Well, proper cooling is also highly recommended as you have done. But my concern is not in the short term, but rather, after long term running your machine at 100% cpu. Let's say you ran it 3 years, 24/7 at 100% cpu.

And I ran my machine on a daily basis, or a few times a week, with general usage, and turned it off at the nights and on in the mornings or afternoons. The question is...is there any change in the longevity of the components? Will one machine "last" longer than the other based on how it is run and how often it is turned on/off?

Power up is the worst for electronics components.

The best way is turn off the computer when it's not used for "long" time and have a Uninterruptible Power Supply when it's turned on.

You have to set up basic options, your e-mail at first. Then after setting e-mail crunch some blocks, send them, wait until they appear on the stats site (takes 24 hours usually), then join Distributed Pegasos Team :-).

So we made it. With 1 562 782 Gnodes crunched on MorphOS, our operating system advanced one place up, passing over OpenBSD/AMD64. It is also worth noting that AmigaOS 4 competition seems to be weak now. I guess with Mac mini MoprhOS coming soon we will be able to catch next two platforms (OpenBSD on x86 Intel and NetBSD on AMD64).

    That's cool!
My crunching farm (two non-april PegI's, one PegI-april2 and an Efika) are still hard at work non stop. My PegII's (two G4's & one G3) help out quite frequently too.

I have only Pegasos 2 and a low-spec PC (the latter does not count for MorphOS platform of course, but counts for the Pegasos Team). They both work 24/7 usually. I also crunch on Efika when it is in use, of course Efika can't do much, but on the other hand every block counts...
