    Hi folks. I'd like to test some Messenger (MSN) clients on MorphOS 2.2 and have found some recently.
    What are your experiences? I've only tried SabreMSN, but it crashes early. Perhaps it's me to blame.
    Upon starting, it says that "amisslmaster.library" is required (no version hinted), so I downloaded the "2.2" distribution from its home page. It's 68k software.
    I placed "amisslmaster.library" and "AmiSSL" directory ("68000" variant) in "LIBS:", and did the corresponding "AmiSSL" assign. SabreMSN started to work, but it crashes very early, sometimes it's unable to get my contacts list, other times upon opening a chat window.
    Is AmiSSL to blame? Should I use the "1.1" distribution? I didn't try it because installation is more complex that copying files. Then, there's also version "3.6"... I've learnt that all these versions are not updates of the same libraries, but actually different libraries that can coexist. But I wonder how do applications pick the one they want, if they are all named the same...

    @jcmarcos

    Hola JuanCar ;-)

    You should use AmiSSL v3. http://www.heightanxiety.com/AmiSSL/AmiSSL-3.6-68k.lha

    AmiSSL requires an assign to work so you'll have to create it o leave the installer create it for you. It also uses several certificates stored in a directory so you'd better use the installer to avoid installing SSL incorrectly and then blaming our dear SabreMSN ;-)

    SabreMSN shouldn't crash so easily, use a proper AmiSSL installation and later add some extra stack.

    PS: Well... in fact you could have installed AmiSSL v1, v2 and v3 at the same time because these use different crypt methods. I had a lot of problems with SimpleMail and I had to install AmiSSL v3, then AmiSSL v1, then AmiSSL v2 and then AmiSSL v3. Then SimpleMail SSL stuff worked. Use the installer (the cbm one at Aminet for example). So install: v3, v1, v2 and v3 in this order.

    Why not use PolyGlot? It's native and works like a charm.

    You could also try to use a web-based IM-service like http://www.meebo.com with OWB.

    Thankyou for all this help. I was about to update my AmiSSL installation, but right now I'm trying PolyGlot, which looks nice. But it doesn't seem to support file transfers, which, I belive, it's no easy task...

    Hi there Jaime!
