afaik not, and I can't see any use for it anyway. Just get a TV with HDMI (or at least VGA) input, and you can also get (more than) acceptable image quality as a bonus.

Just decided to point out that you will likely get image from openfirmware, but probably not from MorphOS.

MorphOS 2.x does handle the TV out. You have to configure your monitor specification to support PAL/NTSC modes and then add some of the predefined TV-Out screenmodes.

you know wrong, morphos support tv-out via s-video. the picture is there from OF to morphos - the only problem i've got, that my card seems to send some weird frequency to the tv coz all i can see is just running lines (like if you set multiscan:producivity mode on aga for the tv).

about the tv with hdmi or vga and no use of s-video: i've never seen any crt (analog) tv which has hdmi or vga, only the crap lcd/plasma tv's got them, and no way i'll buy one of those digital piece of shit as i use only analog and SD sources (tv, consoles).
    so stop talking nonsense pls.

Why do you prefer analog signals for video?

coz all my sources are SD. SD looks pretty bad on digital stuff. even a DVD (or a similar quality divx) looks much better on a crt tv than on a crt monitor not to mention shitty lcd's...

And because some people need Svid -> old school video VJ mixing for example.

I will give a try this weekend.

Thats really cool. Didnt know that.. i'll have to try it but this means the monitor must be able to do 15hz? Why wasnt there just a default video out mode enabled in 2.0? Instead of a user hack..

Afair a TV-Out enabled screenmode means no suitable output on VGA/DVI.

Actually there were several CRT-TVs made in the EOL-cycle that had HDMI, I should know, I own one of them (and it beats the crap out of those sorry excuses for what they call TVs nowadays)... ;)

    Yay,

I did not managed to get the svideo output working this week end.

I tried many different mode (PALTV) in screenmode prefs but no success so far.

    Any advice?

I have my MorphOS 2.1 screen set to 1280x1024, so my flat panel can work in it's native resolution over DVI. This resolution is of course far too big for the TV. I have connected the TV using S-Video and only the Open Firmware screen is showing fine.

Now, I know the resolution is too big for TV. But how is it solved on, for example WinXP, where you can have any resolution you want on the primary display, and the TV screen display is either scaled down or extended (with scroll). Furthermore, when playing a movie on a Overlay surface, the driver can show only this surface on the telly with or without aspect ratio lock, with overscan or not.

Is there any way to do this on MorphOS 2.x? For example, when playing a movie using GMPlayer on the Overlay surface?

PS. I got the OF screen on TV only when using Radeon 9200SE (GV-R92S128T by Gigabyte), but not on Radeon 9250 (CGA-9256TVD by Club3D). Any clues?
