    Hi,
    Anyone tested gigabit speed on Morphos2 ? Please post your
    results :)
    I get 20megabyte/s win->morphos and 4-5megabyte/s morphos->win using a smbfs share

    make sure to test with something else besides SMBFS (which has some serious up-speed problems IMHO.. e.g. with good old MiamiDX/ via I get approx 7-8MB down (OSX->MorphOS) but only 80KB/s up (MorphOS->OSX)).

    regards,

    Tokai,

    this 80kB/s figure seems to be rather related to miami though. With the other stacks it's much "higher" in comparison.

    Considering that where I live ADSL works with some troubles (sometimes too much troubles...),
    considering I have a 7 meg flat line, I started to download ISO image of Debian cd (638 meg) and
    network statistic showed a 580 KB/s in its display.
    I don't know if this could be useful. Or how to measure speed in the right way.
    All that I can see is an increasing speed, an immediate response.

    @Fab:

    Nope. I'm currently using Netstuck and its still limited to 80kb/s here.. seems to be related to the version of SMBFS. With newer versions I can get up to approx 400kb/s, but with that versions the download speed is crippled for me to only 30-40% of what I can get with the old version. Since down speed is more important for me (because all the movie streaming) I keep the old version.

    But some fixed SMBFS adressing all this issues probably would be nice.

    Tried with amitradesenter and got ~14megabyte/s but it seemed as buffers where real small as hd on pegasos worked like hell, smbfs is the fastest so far, but dont know why upload is so slow yet.
    Dont know what transfer rates are normal on gigabit in the pc world.

    I think Gbit Nic should do about 120Mb/sec in theory.
    So in the end it would also depands on your HD.

    i had about 8-9MB/s at the breakpoint party with MorphOS1.4.5 on my 100MBit Port. So it should be a lot higher with the 1GBit port.
