    Hello All

I have a Pegasos board here with no April patch. The dreaded bus lockup machine. I cant get MOS 1.4 installed from the cd but I can get 1.3 going. Can someone please tell me how I can install 1.4 by hand? Thank you very much.

Why you didn't put the Harddisk in your April Pagasos and install MOS1.4 and then put the HD back into that non April Pegasos?!?

    Hi Magnetic,

    First of all check here:

    http://www.morphos-news.de/beta2help/

This guide will help you installing it. Now if you run into any probs could you describe them here or mail me them? I got the same board wich has 1.4 running on it and it did not cost me any trouble getting it installed. Don't worry we get this one working. That helpguide alone should do it. :-)

    Let me know.

    Thanks guys for your help.

Coder: I'm afraid the guide isnt too helpful for this kind of thing (pre April board)

I have 1.3 installed and working well. I try to boot from the 1.4 cd and it goes to the MOS splash screen, and appears to want to boot to MOS but it says my boot.img file is too old.. and instructs me to reboot using OF commands

    I reboot and type boot /pci/ide/cd boot.img

and it goes to boot and then freezes in OF (IDE Lockup)

What should I do? I guess I have to manually copy over files? How?

    TIA

    Hi again

    # I have it on Slave Primary.. Maybe I can try Master Secondary? I had 1.3 installed now, its all crazy

Ok, I thought maybe you had it connected to the second channel, because if I remember right the most problems with non-aprilboards is when copying lot of data between channels and not between devices on the same channel.

But I understand now from your posts that the problem is something else.

Another question then :-), have you choosed FFS-INT ? Rember I had a lot of problem with this myself on a non-aprilboard, until I figured this out. If so try change to FFS-NOINT, or try SFS or PFS.

You can also try delete everything on the system-partition, perhaps reformat the systempartition, (copy all data to another partition first), and then try boot from the cd again when the systempartition is clean and empty.

Or try The Players suggestion, thats a good one :-)
    Best wishes, Gunne

    Hi Magnetic,

That's strange. Did you try to boot with the 1.4 cd and the HD disconnected? See what it does there. Just only the cd. Try that first. Also wipe out the HD. Remove every partitions there are. Maybe do it in a PC. But like I said, try the cd only option first.
