@magnetic
I wasn't joking at all. Maybe you don't see it, but in my suggestions (if they sounded funny to you) I saw a bigger picture. I'm not joking when telling people to use 'MorphOS' rather than 'MOS' in public places. I happen to experienced more than one situation where MorphOS user used MOS outside the MorphOS world and caused serious confusion. Because MOS is just a random 3 letter combination which can stand for anything, but MorphOS. Just check google. So the usage of MorphOS should always be used over the usage of MOS (this especially goes for archive filenames too f.ex.).
I also remember you were a lot more productive in the past, e.g. you made presentation videos about MorphOS and released them to the internet etc. I appreciate that kind of motivating people.
Where is all of this productiviy of yours gone? If you want to help MorphOS that's the way. If you need a feature list, why don't you take 2 - 3 days of your time and write it together. Make a nice PDF out of it, f.ex. Just by reading all your threads alone you should cover 60%-80% of the MorphOS features. See jcmarcos, he started this job already, but it can be *much* more complete if someone invests the time if he has. Yes, *just* by collecting all public infos from morph.zone and the linked sites/ reports you'll get a feature list which covers 96% of MorphOS 2.0. This is something which will probably be more appreciated by everyone (including me) than the 20th thread asking the MorphOS team to do it (they surely have more important/ pressing issues to solve in the remaining short time).
Dropping by on #morphos and lurk around there quietly for just long enough will usually help to collect bits and facts about the upcoming release too.
What you fail to realize is that I'm as a MorphOS developer *and* user really be ashamed when I have to point external peaople who want to know a bit more about MorphOS to a forum like morphzone and there are tons of magnetic threads on the frontpage where people have nothing left to do than to whine about the not yet released MorphOS 2.0. Or they complain about missing feature lists or screenshots as if no information like that existed. Thats a really great way to promote MorphOS! If you don't see why I (in my job as MorphZone moderator not as developer/ user) try to reduce that as much as possible then I don't know. Maybe your intentions are right (I'm not really sure about this anymore atm.) but what you do has zero to do with promotion. It's rather the opposite.
And I tried to get that into your head a few times already, that you still didn't got it is something which makes me 'pissed off' about all the time i wasted into this (don't you think writing such long posts here on mz.org takes its time too I could spend much better into something more useful?). Sure that makes one sound harsh after some time, but that has nothing to do with elitist humour.
Anyway... if you really want to help MorphOS, then you could complete the pity MorphOS wikipedia entry and fix all its missinformation. etc. There is so much to do even for non-programmers that I always wonder why so many people (mostly you atm.) just whine for happenings of the MorphOS Team as if they were the only one who could save the MorphOS world.
Now I hope I could express myself in an understandable way and you'll bend back for a while and think about what's the right way to help. I'll look forward to your helpful contributions.
regards,
tokai
