    I've just installed Ubuntu from PegxMac2.0 packet. But i can't boot from HD installed Ubuntu. I have 3rd partition ext with Ubuntu, 4th one is linux-swap. I type in OF:
    boot HD:3 vmlinuz root=...

    and i tried as root /dev/hda2 , /dev/hda3 and even /dev/hdb1 and /dev/hdb2 (as in install guide on http://obligement.free.fr/articles/ubuntupegasos.php , but i haven't second HD). Always i have panic error
    VMS: Cannot open boot device "hda2" or unknown-block(3,2)

    Did u try using "ide:3" instead of "HD:3"? Ehmm... Better u try with "ide:2" or HD:2!
    Pheraps u gave the wrong command. Your 3rd partition should be hd:2 or ide:2 since hd:0 or ide:0 is the 1st partition!
    In my case, I type at OF the following command:

    "ide:6 boot/feisty_boot video=radeonfb:1280x1024-8@85 root=/dev/hda7"

    But, consider I use feisty_boot as kernel boot image, btw. tnx our great Peter!

    Oops... I suppose we're quite OT on MZ for such kind of discussion...

    Try to continue the thread on ppczone.

    Bye,

    @Solo_Kazuki,

    Your should have follow this tutorial about debian on pegasos 1 and 2. Verify if you did choose under scsiconfig "custom filesystem" and set it to "0x4c4e5800". If that is not the case you will not be able to boot on your linux partition, wheter you have a correct kernel.

    I know this tutorial... after all i put this address in first post ;)
    Of course i have Ubuntu, not Debian.

    And filesystem type is set to 0x4c4e5800, so it's not fautl of this.

    I'm downloading now Ubuntu 7.04 install CD. Maybe this will help...
