Any real news (other than "when its done") ? Will it run on the new EFIKA?

Transmission isn't the best client to port. It doesn't respect protocol and is even banned from many trackers. I once made a quick'n'dirty transmission compilation which i never really released officially, because it tends to stall quite often.

Setting up Mldonkey is, even for me, very easy!!!
I use it now for a long time. And yes sometimes it freezes so you have to start it again. But only MlDonkey freezes, not the computer.

Try setting "loop_delay" (downloads.ini) to 60

I will try your advice. I had already increased it to 30

Recent (0.9x) Transmission is said to be much closely following protocol, tho'.
