Is there anything like this already in existence? Like SNMP or WMI? Any interest in something like this? Given a network with a bunch of different machines including some MorphOS boxes, it's annoying that they either have to be added manually or show up under "Unknown" when you scan with a management tool like Spiceworks, etc.

    OK,
    a) nobody knows what I'm talking about
    b) if they do, this kind of thing doesn't seem useful

Let me try again: Is there any way to remotely retrieve configuration data from a MorphOS box? Name, OS, Model, Mfr., RAM, HD, CPU, IP would be a great start, but there's many more things that could be reported. And reporting is just the start.

I'm going to be adding 2-16 MorphOS devices to my network within the next month. I'd like to be able to tell whether they are up and running without slogging up two flights of stairs.
