Running MorphOS PowerUP and would like to know if I there's an MUI4 without debug which slows down all MUI related too much for it to be fun :-(

If the search function had worked on this forum I would probably had found my answer by now...

    try with theese startup settings:

    startup hal=roms/hal.com1 kernel=roms/kernel.com1 abox=roms/abox2.com1 module=roms/module.com1 resetlevel=$resetlevel ramdebug verbose debug EDebugFlags="NoLogServer LoadSeg" sumkick disableled delay=$delay extmodules=extmodules/#? $bootdevice $kickstart >NIL:

and if it still feels slow for you, run Sashimi also

Seems like the ss stuff and Sashimi helped a bit.

What commands do you use with Sashimi?

I remember that someone opened an identical thread in here about 1-2 months ago and the reply was that the debug implementation of MUI doesn't slow down your system like Ambient's debug does.

There are 2 things which i don't understand about this:
Why Sashimi is needed when we use the ramdebug argument? Aren't these 2 things suppose to perform the same function??
Isn't ramdebug and debug arguments contradictive?

That's weird since now some MUI related windows open much slower..for example the Ibrowse download window

MUI spills out some debug when programs are doing something wrong or suspicious with window layout. IIRC it also happens sometimes when program is using listviews (like in download manager) but I cant check it now...

And no, there is no MUI4 without debug available...

Not listviews, but nlistviews. Despite these warnings, nlist hasn't been fixed and still brutalizes MUI. :)

Yes, i have also noticed that. In fact, i have opened a special thread about this in the past. I just informed you on what the reply was in that "MUI without debug?" thread.

    @All
I'd still like to receive an answer to this:

Also, which of the MUI classes are being used by Ambient?

Sashimi is not needed. If you use ramdebug option debug output normally captured by Sashimi would go to ramdebug anyway.

Sashimi can't even capture all debug going to ramdebug buffer.

    Amigaz,

IB download window uses nlist, which is a rather buggy class and thus makes mui produce a lot of debug.

    Ambient only uses listtree.mcp.
