hi guys is till cant play vcds or svcds on mos when i put one in the dvd rom mos doesnt sees it its the filesystem i think. how can i get rid of this problem ?? dvd it plays well divx playing great but none of my vcds work

try something like this:

work:mplayer/mplayer -vcd 1 -cdrom-device ide.device:3

didnt help for me mos jusr didnt reconice my vcds or svcds whem i put hem in my amiga there on the workbench screen and in mos they doesnt show. mos just dont sees them

I just tried the option with a VCD and it works with me.

I put the CD in my CDROM. And no, the CD isn't recognised by Ambient!

I opened a CLI-screen and went to my mplayer dir and just typed:

mplayer -vcd 2 -cdrom-device ide.device:3

It just happens I have a CDROM at ide.device 3 and I ran -vcd 2 because track 1 isn't something playable.

Mplayer recognised the CD and "told" me that there are 3 tracks.

Perhaps you didn't give the right IDE.device number?

I have the same plroblem with mplayer, but in frogger runs fine.

Jo,i have the same problem with my Svcds
I can only view it with Frogger,too

I thought,that this was a Problem of Morphos and that it would be
fixed in 1.4
Further i would like to know why Frogger often isn't able to show
Fullscreen.Mostly it works on 480*576
Frogger's last update runs on my Peg,so I wonder why I have still

VCD's work here with mplayer options someone already said here...

SVCD's work great too...

Strange you all can't play it with mplayer.
I played it with my CDRewriter configured as Master on the second IDE connector.
I did a fresh install of MOS1.4 and installed mplayer on it.


Perhaps you could try te reconfigure your IDE-stuff or if it's possible another CDROM drive.

The MorphOS CD Filesystem doesn't recognize VCD for the moment, but
may be added in the future. By the way, it's implemented in Linux but
never worked for me.

About Mplayer, I found 4 ways to read raw data on a CD, and of course
usually only once works per drive. I put the most compatible in
priority and I auto-detect some drives like TraxData and Plextor,
Samsung ...).

Then for VCD send me the log of MPlayer with -v as well as the
SCSIUtil (on Aminet) log:

SCSIUtil -dtoto.device x -ir
where tot.device your device
and x the unit

I found my problem.
I can't play vcds with mplayer in my cdrecorder.

But I can play:
vcds with mplayer from dvd unit
vcds with frogger from dvd unit
vcds with frogger from cdrecorder.
