Is there any way to control / adjust some things from MorphOS main preferences automatically using a script or anything?
Recently I replaced the original ModeEdit.mprefs with the one from MOS 1.4.2 to have the Gamma tab within ModeEdit prefs. Unfortunatelly, these things are not stored anywhere. Thats why I need to adjust it automatically on every startup of MOS.

I miss draggable screens... and do you? I know I'm in a minority unfortunately.

nor me! it was present even in CGX 4.x (only for supported cards, i think)

    Useful for some old CRT.

    Useful for some old CRT.

And now it's useful for LCDs like mine - without any buttons on it.

I wonder why MOSTeam got rid of this feature in 1.4.5 ?

Fortunately you just need to replace a single file and then you got it.
The only one inconvenience is that these parameters are not saved at all.
Have you any idea how to manage that?

to be honest, i saw this neat feauture when i've got my CVPPC and CGX 4.2 for the first time. (i had an old 21" IDEK Iyama that badly needed it)

I've tryed to change the Gamma values but (at least here) they were not updated in runtime.

Now that you are saying that they are lost after a reboot, explains me a thing or 2 :-)

Hey, you don't get it me correctly :)
It has nothing to do with my problem. I'm talking about MorphOS prefs, not about those for AOS3.x.
The remain things I've explained enough I think :)

Maybe this is because of my lame english or not, but I can't figure out what's your point you're talking about CGX from AmigaOS 3.x.
"runtime" - do you mean they are not updated on the fly or after reboot?
MOS color, gamma, brightness adjustements are updated on the fly but they are not saved anywhere and they are simply lost aftera a reboot.
I don't know how it works in MOS 1.4.2 where this component is "legal" :-) but in 1.4.5 these things are saved nowhere for sure.
My question is if you have any idea how to adjust it automaticaly on every startup.

Does SnoopDOS or Snoopium say anything when you apply those changes?
Is there any way of passing those values to the driver, from a program, instead of the screen preferences editor?

It spits with a lot of things but these are not much helpful IMHO.

To be honest this is a log from Snoopium not from SnoopDOS but I presume both work same.

This log was created after click on Save.
    Does it clarify anything?

and it would be useful to have a clue from the CGX or MOS Team crew, if this feauture is still present and how activate it in MOS 1.4.5

Ah... and if all the GFX card support (or supported) it.

    Thanks

PS- am i asking too much! :-D
