Is there a software solution to use a PC's mouse/keyboard over a network to control a Pegasos? The Pegasos is connected to the same monitor as the PC (the monitor has switchable VGA/BNC inputs) and both are connected to a Fritz!Box router. I'd like to avoid wasting money on a KVM switch just for mouse/keyboard.

Thanks for the hint, sounds like an exact match :) Any recommendation what vnc server to use on the PC (XP in my case)?

im using TightVNC but i guess any vnc server should do

One last question, vnc for dummies: does "vnc client" mean that zvnc on the Pegasos controls the PC and that mouse/keyboard must be connected to the Pegasos or is this a bidirectional thing and the PC's keyboard/mouse can be used to operate the Pegasos?

Indeed you need a VNC server if this is what you want to do.

I don't know if it supports displayless mode, never tried it. I guess it won't send any display unless the client asks for it, but in case it doesn't work I guess you could bug Piru to include the option not to send the display.

As far as i know, the vnc client can only connect to a vnc server and control the computer running a server,
there is a exellent vnc server for Morphos, but that sends whole display of morphos, unless Piru can
do and update and make and option to turn off display :) , you have to use pegasos to operate the pc.

Umm... KVMs for 2 boxes are very cheap now. Hardware solutions are ALWAYS better than software solutions imo.

I also disagree, software solutions are nearly always better than hardware ones, provided they can realistically work. And I think this should be possible.. But I guess you also need to find a client for the PC that doesn't insist on transporting the display as well.
