Maybe you can just ask Intuition to refresh the screen ?
Or maybe close Ambient and restart it (if possible)

Unfortunately, this is part of the ambient works at boot-time. As far as I can tell, these graphics are loaded at boot time. If I can find a way to force Ambient to re-read the graphics while it's running, I will make a change to eliminate the reboot--I just have to find a command, function, etc for doing this.

It is a nice little tool. Better than renaming the moprhos directory in the preset.
Also I like the Icons (Ocinel Icons?)
I hope that there will be a too such like Visual prefs for MorphOS.

There are still some potential issues, such as if the directory name inside the archive is not called MorphOS--it will not work. But, so far, every skin archive I've seen uses the directory MorphOS. I guess I'll cross that bridge when it comes up though.

by the way: you know about that skinpath variable in mos1.3? :)

YOu only need to open a new screen... and the new skin will be used 4 that screen.

So maybe a closing and opening of Ambient Screen can do the job.

Unfortunately, for the time being Ambient cannot be closed and reopened from shell/arexx. Sorry.

now where can we find a few cool skins ;) ?

Oh yeah, *ehem*, don't use the skin-shuffler right now! I'll look
into doctoring up the skin-installer, but there is no longer a need
for the shuffle. Instead, use the system prefs/screenmodes to change
your skins!
