    Hi,

I have a really NEWBIE question: How do you configure the icons in
    morphOS?

For example, to force MorphOS to use a particular PNG for Sys, Work,
    USB sticks, CDs, etc?

BTW: I've seen some icons that show the diskspace (in the ez skin
screenshots, for example). Where do you get them?

    Thanks a lot!

Copy the wanted icon as disk.info to your device, eg usb stick, cd or a harddrive partition.

Diskspace gauges are present in later Ambient, but not in the one that came up with the cd. Check MorphOS-news.de for a newer version.

You can create "ENVARC:sys/def_<device>disk.info" and it will be used for all those disks without disk.info that are used in device.

For CD's (for example) the name would be "def_CD0disk.info", for USB memory sticks etc. it would be "def_UMSDdisk.info"

On startup contents of ENVARC: will be copied to ENV: (and used from there) so copy the files to there aswell (or just reboot)

In MorphOS-news.de there is only ambient 1.41 (actually, not even, since the link is broken). Or do you actually mean that I should get the CVS snapshot and compile it? (I hope that compiling under MOS is a less traumatic experience than under Linux).

Compiling Amibient requires "the old" sdk. With current sdk you will not be able to do the build. Anyway, Sourgeforge offers a compiled 1.42 version from October which runs quite nice.

Keep in mind that this is a work in progress.
This means parts will fail sometimes, you
can encounter crashes and other strange things.

If you can live with my settings :

Yes, I downloaded and installed that too, seems fine and it is nice to have the latest.
