    Dear all,

I've just received my peg II, and started to configure MorphOS. Everything was ok, and then I've tried to configure Debian... When I've changed the keyboard layout, debian DIED on me... completely blocked, kbd and mouse dead. So, after trying to make it respond, I had to reboot using the reset button... MISTAKE!

Now, when booting, I get a lovely message saying:
    "Smart Firmware....
    ...ENTER to boot:
error: error while trying to load or boot
    ok"

HEEEEELLPPP! How do I fix it????

    Thanks!

    Winterhunter,

Sounds like your boot string is wrong. if you do a printenv from OF what is the boot variable set to, and does what it is booting actually exist?

As a matter of fact, after a good night's sleep, the computer decided to work ok again....

I do not understand, yesterday I've tried to turn it off and unplug it for around a minute, and the default was persistent... But after 10 hours of being turned off (but not unplugged), it suddenly works???

Can someone please explain what happened here?

Today, it was working fine until:
Tried to boot Debian... it detected that yesterday the session was not closed correctly. When automatically trying to scan it and repair it, it locks... Dead keyboard and everything (caps lock does not respond).

MorphOS booted fine, until I tried to change the monitor settings. A strange (blank sheet of paper?) icon appeared on the upper right corner of the screen, and MorphOS died.

Again, tried to reboot, obly to get the same error from OF... Maybe after a few hours, it will work again?
---Edit: 10 minutes unplugged seem to do the trick.

Can someone even try to guess what is wrong, before my nerves crack and I ship it back to Vesalia (just arrived yesterday, a pity to ship it back).

---Edit: MorphOS "works" (Debian doesn't)... Uptime before Ambient stops responding ~ 5 min

Thanks for the info. On my side, I've just sent the whole computer back to vesalia, who did the fixing.
