Hello:

Anyone using a Wacom tablet with a Peg?
while mine is almost ready for delivery , I think it would be wise to find any software drivers for a Wacom tablet for a Peg?

Graphire3, Intuos2 and PenPartner all work fine on MorphOS using Poseidon. Linux handles them fine too. I own a Graphire and a PenPartner.

I hope you went for USB and not the cheaper serial version..

well, I have an Intuos 2, USB, here but I couldnt get it work.

It just does not respond (that means no pressure, and one cant draw correctely) in TVPaint, which is really the main program I would use it in.

Any suggestions to get it work?

Im new to the Pegasos , so Im not sure what Poseidon is ? Where can I find information on the Poseidon? The Morphos website is not open.

This information is critical to the purchase of the PegasosII I am now ordering...

what does the USB stack have to do with a Wacom driver for a Pegasos?

I have a USB Wacom graphire3 grafic tablet.

Just plug into one free usb port and its working. As USB is a standard every device needs to follow it (more or less). You prolly will not have all the highly advanced features today Wacoms driver for other OSes offer, but it works like it should. Everything is handled by the USB STack/ driver, aka Poseidon.


No need for some special drivers like for the old serial tablets.

that's the best driver I ever have heard of...So the Poseidon somehow reads the graphic tablet(identifies it)and the system responds to the instructions?

...And in the case of a internet stack or tcp/ip the Posiedon does the same?

Sort of a pre-programed input device?

Well, I dont know what I do wrong here but really the Wacom Intuos2 USB graphic tablet does not work at all!

It is correctely recognized by Poseidon, I have the latest version installed, but there is no response at all, neither on Ambient, fxPaint2, TVPaint, ArtEffect4...

Is there something I have to enable somewhere???

It identifies a standard input device (HID class AFAIR). that's it. This class has a whole bunch of defined things (x-axis, y-axis, z-axis, buttons 1 - n, and so on) the tablet just tells the usb stack on which of this defined things it wants to have his stuff mapped. Thats it. Same for mices or joypads if they follow the USB standard.


Dunno what you mean with tcp/ip exactly.


But yes, poseidon 'influences' input.device and/or lowlevel.library.

The tablet is connected to port 2 and I did merge it!

The tablet is also recognized by Poseidon right away but there is no response at all from the pen.

is it recognized as HID input device (hid.class)?

If so you can check on the settings on 3rd page and see if the board sends input events at all (enable the "track?" checkmark.

Maybe just the events are not mapped. But also try to "merge with port 0 (mouse)" maybe that will do the job?

yes it is recognized (have a look at the jpg) as hid.class.

Now I enabled the track checkmark but nothing happens and I also did merge with port 0.

Any further ideas?

it looks okay, from first view... no idea what could be wrong there.

maybe it does run in pen mode and not mouse mode on default or stuff.

If i think on it I'll try my wacom sometime on weekend and look what it says here (have it connected on some otter computer atm.)

from the info it looks okay, compared now with mine (see my screenshot), and besides I have a different model all looks very the same. Mine (graphire3, a5) works well. Recognized w/o problems.

But It does only work in relative mouse mode (means.. move pen on tablet up it moves pointer relative up too) and not in absolute tablet mode (top/left edge == screen top/left edge.. and so on).

no unfortunately mine does not work at all!!!

Well it is a Intuos 2 and not a Graphire3, that's perhaps why.
