    I use a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-109 drive which has firmware v 1.17 I would like to update to latest v 1.55.

Does anybody know how to do this under MorphOS?

    Thanks for suggestions.

    Regards
    Christoph

the update tools mostly need Windows or DOS. No chance under MorphOS

There is nothing for MorphOS, but you can update your firmware to a bucket (PC) (if you have one) and then plug it again in your Pegasos :-P

You must use a pc to flash the firmware..

Also, does this drive support DECSS with Mplayer and playing of Commercial (encoded) DVDs?

You may be able to do it using boches or dosbox. I know I can use VPC to flash mine on the Mac but only through USB. Its worth a try at least.

Good alternative suggestion, but I wouldnt recommend doing so as there is a danger for a crash or freeze and this will kill the drive..

Using a PC is the best way. I recomend going to a thrift shop and getting the oldest PC they have for just a few bucks. Install freeDOS on it and your set.
