I want to order Papyrus Office package for my MorphOS system, but I want some opinions first.
Does anyone of you have already bought this software?

Is it good, is it bad, is it worth the money or not?

    Thanks....

I only saw an 'early' beta. It had some flaws, but it showed a lot of promise. Anything I could say about it would surely be out of date.

I would really appreciate anyone who has the released version to write a review of thier experiences ;-)

I think it's a good app, even if there are some bugs left. It isn't that fast, but it's usable. Printing works in the latest release, too.

I think that Papyrus is a good program with many advanced
features. The database part are realy nice, but the
spread sheet functions are not. They are integrated with
tables in a text document, so you place a table and
add somme numbers. Then you define a formula in some
cell. The bad thing with this is that you have to
write in the formula manualy, you can't mark cells with
your mouse in order to get the range for the calculation.

The worst thing in Papyrus is it's import/export. I
have never been able to read or write a Ms word document
. The RTF importer seems to work ok , but when I exports
a RTF document with pictures it fails, ie you can't
read it again, with Papyrus or an other program.

In my opinion Papyrus is a realy good office suit and
if they can fix the import/export bugs it will become
a real killer app for MorphOS !

    Buy it !!!

well, from all opinions and reviews we had on www.amigaimpact.org i can tell you that Papyrus is not even a beta version in its current state. Don't expect to do anything serious with it but some betatesting.
Such a high price for a software that is far from being finished... clever guys at Titan, you buy the product and do the beta testing... they don't pay for betatesters, they got betatesters that pay them ! hehehe

Even openoffice struggles with import of importing word documents, and there are incompatibilities between different microsoft word and office packages.

Despite that I expected wonders, but we have to face it, it can import some word stuff, but it's not yet an all in one solution :)

Apart from that the version I've seen was decent and absolutely worth the price. A few bits of german messages here and there, but in overall one of the best options for those who require office functionality on MorphOS.

    very interesting deb!
Is there a place where download a demo of Office for MacOS running on Basilisk?
I've also Office 2004 demo running under MOL but i'd like to use it under Morphos!

We started talking about a new MorphOS software, and end up talking about using some other's software through an emulator. That's not going to help our patform.

    not, but it's phun!! :-)

If I want to share the docs I have @ work with my Peg I must use M$ standards, so I'm forced to use MOL under Linux or OOffice, that's sad but AFAIK Papyrus is not able to import Microsoft stuff correctly so the only chance for now it's emulation.

    @jcmarcos

BasiliskII is a new MorphOS software ;-)
If you know something for MorphOS that can outperform the old MS-Office 4.2 from 1995 than I will gladly talk about it.

I want to say that I fully agree with jcmarcos. If we start to use exclusively MorphOS software via emulators then "happy new year" as we say in our country... 8-)
