    Hi Dj
You are doing a great service to the community. Your MOL stuff is great! However, your "Download" section is down on your site. I would love to get the MOL stuff. Please post to let us know.
    TIA

    HiHo!
Please could tell me someone, where to find the
    required libc6-Version for PPC?
On the debian-homepage I just only find x86-version....
    Please!!!

    Hi all
I'm really confused with installing MOL on Debian. Do I have to recompile my pegasos linux kernal? I have a bunch of .deb files what do I do with them? How do I execute them? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, magnetic!
    .deb files are packed archives...
You can f.e. install them by clicking them in
    Konqueror...
A Archivier-GUI is opened in which you are told
what other archives (f.e. libs) are used to
    run the wanted program...
Which .debs do you have? Are they for MOL?
For installing MOL unpack the source of your
    kernel f.e. in /lib/modules/
A pegasoslinux drawer is created there...
cd in it and write "make config"
You are asked several questions about the
kernel (don't know if you are allowed here to
answer in non-default way, but default answers worked here).
After questions are over write "make dep"
    Done this write
    "ln -s /lib/modules/pegasoslinux /usr/src/linux"
    to make a soft-link into 2nd path.
    Unpack your MOL-packages
    cd into created mol-kmods...
write "./configure" - after that "make" and "make install".
Do the same with the other mol -drawer...
I hope there are no errors in my description,
    as I'm still a linux-newbie....
Alternatively you can download the rpms
    from MOL-Homepage and convert them
    with alien into .debs:
    "alien mol-XXX.rpm" is enough.
Theses archives can be installed with the
    above described Archivierer-GUI.
But make sure you have all dependencies
    installed on your system!
to install missing ones (or to test if installed)
    write:
    apt-get install archivename
    f.e.
    apt-get install libc6

    Good luck!
    Bye

PS: Anyone got the link for the latest needed
libc6, in order to install XFree4.3?

djbmister Caterpillar explains in his post
    from 2003/5/27 13:22, how to install libc6.

    > ( once you have done this, type apt-get )
    > (update then JUST type apt-get install libc6)
    > (, nothing else OK!!!)

And it worked for me :)

At certain point, he mentions to do:
    apt-get install x-windows-system,
    wich should be x-window-system,
without the s, but besides this
minor thing, it didn't install XFree4.3
for me, so i did something like:
    apt-get install xserver-xfree.

But now that i have libc6 and xfree4.3
installed, i have another problem, now
my radeon 7000 works a bit, but the only
screenmode i get is 1280*960 or such,
wich doesn't work for MOL, and i can't
seem to get mol running in a window.. :(((

    Felix.

    Hi, felix!
Thank you for reply, but as I don't have
internet-access on my Peggie, it's quiet useless
    to configure apt-get this way...
    But it doesn't matter:
I'll send david (djbmister) the paypal-money
and he sends me a "ready-to-take-off-debian-distribution" with latest XFree+KDE....

    Have a nice weekend!

    Bye

That's exactly what Mandrake 9.1 delivers up to date
and NO beta releases for common users. I will wait foor Mandrake! (or some other distro).Meanwhile I wish you luck

I had many troubles compiling the XFree86 4.3,
make World without any troubles, but make install
failed, and now my whole X-window doesn't wanne start anymore ...

get the new 4.3.0 version from www.xfree.org

you'll also need the following files:
    apt-get install libncurses5-dev
    apt-get install libglpng-dev
    apt-get install libpam0g-dev

untar the xfree source in /usr/src
    cd xc
    make World
    make install

and don't forget to read the readme files!

    Hi, gfx!
    Thank you for reply!
For bad luck I still don't have internet-access
on my peggie, so I can apt-get install XXX-from internet on it!
But soon djbmister sends me his precomiled
    XFree4.3+KDE3.1 + Debian8CD distrib
and then all my trouble is gone....

    Have a nice weekend!
