Well, first off, so far I'm quite happy with MOS UAE for what it's there for. Although, am I right to think that the latest version 0.8.6c doesn't support joysticks?

For catweasel owners, transdisk works with the catweasel drive. :) Just use "-d multidisk <unitnumber, probably 0>". Apologies if people know that one.

Anyway, I've been trying to get an older (OS1.x) program to run on my MOS system. It's called "ComicSetter". It's just something that I like to occasionally load up and play around with. It's generally well behaved and worked on my 060 based 3.1 system not too shabbily. :P

If I try and boot it up on my MOS system, the program quits with a message saying that it's only the North America version. :( I adf'ed the disks and try to boot the program up in MOS UAE and I get the same thing. I try to boot it up on my A4000 and it says the same thing (although my A4000 is setup as pal.) Boot up in early startup menu, switch to NTSC and everything is fine and dandy.

So quick q's... Is there a way for MOS to switch itself to NTSC? Or, should I try and find a switch in MOS UAE that'll do that?

You could download "Degrader" from aminet and try
the "60hz system" option. Not sure if it would
    work though...

OH MY... DEGRADER WORKED!!! Well, 60hz System anyway. :P

Hmm... Well, ComicSetter doesn't work too well unfortuantly. :( I can switch to Interlace mode, add a page, select a graphic to import, but after that it goes downhill. It's a shame though, as it was running quite fast. :)

I guess I'll have to try and live with using it via UAE. Now it's just trying to figure out how I can force MOS UAE to go into NTSC mode. :P

But the early startup isn't in KS1.3 right?

How do directories work in MOS UAE? When I startup UAE with a workbench 3.1 disk, I can see the directory mounted as a drive.

When I look at the mounted directory, all the protect bits are wonky so I set them all to be RWED. However all of the directories are still showing up as large files. I've tried it on a FFS and SFS partitions with the same results. Ideas?

Is it possible to mount a WinUAE generated HDF file into MOS UAE?

    Thanks...

    Hi td741,

I "installed" WB3.1 on a assigned directory as harddrive in UAE. (the directory is on a FFS-formatted partition)
The installation was good, but UAE doesn't want to boot from that "harddrive".
My main problem is that when copying files to that "harddrive" from floppy don't get on that "harddrive" all the time!

If you copy a file from MorphOS-side on that assigned dir and then start UAE and want to see the copied file, it doesn't show correctly.

    See this thread.

In the beginning I also was experimenting with UAE but left it because of the problems stated in this message and because I don't have a joystick.

Is it possible to use a classic Arcade joystick with the Catweasel in UAE?

    Good luck td741 :-)
