To those who have upgraded to 1.44, I want to ask if it's much
improved over 1.4, which is what I'm using here?

Just trying to decide whether to bother yet.

Yup is much more stable, but as said there are are few new bugs. Radeon driver wont let you test new screen modes, to fix that I use the old driver since I couldnt see anything new with the 1.4.4 version. AHI.device needs to be replaced and a new one is out to solve the problem some had and a few other things, but they all have a work orround from what I have seen.

After upgradibg to 1.4.4 all my settings from 1.4.2 were still
present. No need to edit new modes. Driver in use is Radeon 4.1beta42
My advice: b4 upgrading check all your monitor settings and, if needed
adjust some of them, then upgrade.

After upgrading I couldn't print anymore with my Peg 1 600Mhz. I replaced therefor the new parallel-device with the old and all works nice again.
(Printing with Studio and Pagestream 4)
Booting is slower than with the old Ambient.

    What's the deal here?
My main use of the Pegasos now is ProStation Audio (Yes - it works again!) and I'm very reluctant to change anything that might bugger up using PSA.
Bear in mind that I've only just got my machine working properly again after about a month on the sidelines.

The deal is that 1.4.4 upgraded AHI.device as well, but the new version had some problems with audio streaming. An additional update of said file was then provided (within a couple of days) and you can find it on MorphOS-News (where you'll find also a link to the new AHI 6.0rc3) or download directly from here.
Don't be afraid, I found the update quite stable and almost problem free (it has indeed solved some problems for me!).

    Kind regards,
    Andrea
