I downloaded AHI record tonight but couldn't get it to recognise an input signal. I was feeding into the onboard sound input.

Anyone know if there's something I need to change in the tooltypes or something?

    Cheers,
    Robert.

I played with it some time ago, and I made it working with no troubles. But first check out all the possibilities, I don't really remember, if it worked with the backplate connectors, but it did with the front microphone connector. Later I bought SB Live with EMU10k1 chipset and it gave me far more inputs, now I can record every sound around :-)

This what I have it connected to...

    Front microphone connector?
I didn't know there was one.
    Where is it exactly?

I have one of these in my A1 (will swap it round soon) but it appears to have the same inputs as the back of the peg?

    Thanks,
    Robert.

Then try the frontal one ;-)

Take a look at the internal audio connectors... iirc, is't the red (?) one, which is located a bit distant from those others...

Well, but in AHIRecord are more inputs available... just check it out and see for Yourself.

I'll open the case tonight and have a look.

I don't really understand you here. If the hardware only has one input, how can the software create more? (Sorry if this is a stupid question.)

I've successfully sampled audio with backplane line-in connection. But if you're going to use microfone, it would need some amplification, I think...

What programme did you use and how did you set it up?

I also digitized audio through the line-in connector on the back of the Peg.

I used ProStation Audio to make the recording.

Well, I don't remember it exactly (I haven't it in front of me), but iirc, also audio outputs can be used as inputs... it means, that You can record what You are playing... and there isn't the only one input, there are CDROM, line in and microphone inputs... But I'm talking here only about the SB Live...

I successfully recorded sound from my YAMAHA keyboard and some speach by microphone without any wire swapping :-)

btw: just check it out, and see for Yourself ;-)

    Bye, MarK.

PS: I will check it tonight and tell more later.

IMO using the mircophone input would do the job better :-)

This is how I do it currently too but there is no way to monitor the input level.

Since I'm having zero joy with AHI Record, anyone know of *any* other digitizing software for MorphOS that allows you to monitor the input level?

Or am I stuck with the trial and error PSA digitizing?

With internal pegasos chipset, I get the only input 'mixer'...

But with the SB live, I get:

    Mixer
    Line In
    Mic
    CD
    Aux
    Phone
    Video
    Mixer (mono)

Far more inputs, isn't it? :-)

    Bye, MarK.
