    Hi,

I am interested in MacOS. I am not Linux expert, but I know that it can be possible via "linux emulation" (am I right?)

I am interested in running stuffs like Photoshop and other gfx programms (but will it run?) - and what about games and 3D accelerators support (Voodoo3, ATI Rad., ...) - can I have 100% Mac in my Peggy???

    1. Where can I download required files (except MacOS)?

    2. Where can I see some guide "how to do it right" (some guide for idiots please :o)

    Look at this page:

    http://pegxmac.zftp.com

You will have only problems with sound on peg I (no sound)
no 3d and no usb support on pegI.

As far as I know there is no 3D on any version of mac-on-linux...

So the only drawback of Peg-1 is no sound and no usb. But of course, the drawback is also the speed of a G3/600.

It is not bad on a G3/600, but a faster CPU would make it more useful.

BTW, if you are installing OSX using the PegXmacSP cd for Peg-1, make sure you leave the memory to the default 96 megs for installation of Mac OS X 10.2, or if it is OS X 10.3 use 128 megs. Otherwise the install will hang.

as far as i know 3D or even (2D HW acel) suport can´t be made on PegI neither on PegII, i guess this is a MOL limitation, but i may be wrong as i´m just a user :), and realy don´t read a lot about MOL or Linux.

3D acceleration is not supported since you cannot use OSX graphics drivers. There is no direct access to the graphics hardware, MOL uses a proxy driver. There has been talk of writing an OpenGL proxy, but noone seems really interested in doing it.

On my Peg1 sound is working under MOL and I use USB mouse, but I don't know if "normal" USB devices work.

I have another problem with MOL. It is very unstable. I have installed MacOS 9.2.1 (I tryed 9.1.1 too). Linux is stable, but MOL freezs after 5-10 minuts. Sometimes MacOS didn't complete boot.

    Hi!
    I have still a Peg1, too.
MOL 0.9.70-6 works with MacOS 9.2, sound, too!
Some time ago I ran a older version of MOL with a Voodoo installed, and there even
USB worked (Usb mouse still works).
Now I use my radeon9000, but I didn't try yet if usb still works...
(but Agp-cards made some trouble some time ago on peg1)
I'm not quiet sure, but I think the USB-modules on linux-side have to be
    present, but not active (?).
With the actual config/peg1 I have much trouble with OSX!
The installer broke down randomly, so I installed it on my real mac and
put the hd back in my peg (the Mac seems to have created 10! different partitions
and on the last one the OS was installed...)
Well, it worked (i.e. MOL recongnized the installed OS), but it anyway still
    crashes randomly (not usable atm)
    good luck!
    bye

    Ähhm Yes,

there was a thread on the pegx mailing list about pegI and MacOSX.

    David the PegXmac man wrote:

PegXMACSP is for Pegasos 1 owners only, due to the buggy Artcia S
    chip.

    look at this website http://www.maconlinux.org/news.html

PegXMACSP has MOL version 0.68 as its the only version working on
Pegasos 1 and AmigaONE - which unfortuantely, USB wasnt implimented
and Sound doesnt work in MACOSX :-(.

PegXMAC has version MOL 0.70 which works only with Pegasos 2 (no
hardware problems) everything working so far.

Sorry I should have clarified, sound under Mac OS X does *NOT* work on the Pegasos 1....

It seems it does work under Mac OS 9.x.
