an absolutely amazing program! one of my favorite open source programs ever. i woul dbe more than willing to contribute to this one.

but for the record this would by no means be an easy port it would take months, think as long as the amizilla port....

    Hi!
Would be enough for me if it worked here on Pegasos/Linux!
For bad luck I can't compile the sources and there doesn't
seem to be a precompiled package....
    bye

    Frostwork :)

It is a very complicated program. Getting it to work in linux/ppc would be a great start. Being able to offer it on MorphOS as a dedicated editing solution would get a lot of attention from customers!

yes it would be amazing and wonderfull but u would also need tp port xmovie and a few other things and jsut in general it would be a super hard port as it has a lot of linux dependancies....though doable it would be very hard i wish anyone luck who takes up such a task, it would be an awsome mos addition though :-D

by the way does it give a date as to when the newest release was pt out? i cant find release dates anywhere on the site

Let us not forget the few minor details.....

    Quote:

Cinelerra is not for consumer use. If ease of use, simplicity, and convenience, or stylishness are your thing, you should use Virtualdub, Kino, MJPEG tools or MainActor instead.

Video processing takes too long to do on a single computer. In fact no matter how fast the computer, no matter how much tediously hand optimized assembly language is behind it, it's Gaul awful slow. Every video program has a clustered rendering system of some kind and Cinelerra is no exception.

Now Cinelerra is by no means a lightweight program. You'll need something slightly less sexy than a handheld organizer to run it most effectively.

Naturally. This is a program geared for broadcast production, not "I want to put my home movies on dvd". And yes, it does have a lot of not only linux dependencies but intel-isms I'm sure.
