Dir Opus 4 bugs on Morphos

    Hello MorpOS lovers:

My Dir Opus 4 crashes when I enter the configuration. It crashes as it freezes the system (thing that it didn't happened never before)
and it has problems to let you configure the Filetype's option on the Configuration window-options.

I am not new to Morphos (I used since 2021 but I feel I am a bit flacky or unexperienced and new or beginner for Morphos).I am beginning to know at least more but what is the best way for Morphos? Because Morphos is a very reliable and efficient Amiga-system

Dir Opus 4 is a great filemanager but has someone experienced similar problems?.Of all of the program/utility works great, even now I can see lha archives and in a magic touch decompress em as well since yesterday sunday,or saturday maybe that's because I readed all that the program Dir Opus were saying and undrstanding to make right the next step.Dir Opus on its version 4 is a very easy program to use and I love it really forward with it.And the lha configuration of file step that leaded forward was awesome and very imporatnt to me and it was after reading all, ticking the Execute flags on it.And all of lha files now can be decompressed and extracted now as it is was a new Amiga 1200 or Amiga 500 with ACA500

Thank you and hope you can help me

Hope you understand (I am sure haha)

4.16 from http://dopus.free.fr/download.php appears to work OK. As in: it didn't crash when opening file types configuration, unlike the Aminet MorphOS build. Likely a bug in the aminet binary.

Use some time DOPUS 4.18 (modyfied version from Jacek Rzeuski). Config works there, except font-prefs (crashes during loding preview-fonts - but not allways).
    Peg2, 3xPowerMac G5, 2xPowerbookG4, 2x MacMiniG4, Efika (again), A3000T and life is never boring.....

    I checked my 2 DirOpus great programs/utilities/filemanagers I have DirOpus 4 version 4.17 and Directory Opus 5.92 Magellan 2.

Where can I download the version 4.16 of Dir Opus 4? Maybe on Morphos Storage or Aminet?

I will try to download the version 4.16 with the URL you give me.

    Thanks a lot jacadcaps!!!

Where can I download it? And...Is it better the Dir Opus version 4.16 than the 4.18 one?

    Thanks you too

Downloaded Dir Opus 4.16,tried to install and installer gives me error. Is an Amiga 1200 AGA version I think.

Can I install well 68k software on my Morphos and later run it as embeded 68k software inside MorphOS 3.18? i hearded this somewhere.

I want to play with Amiga emulator and play AGA games and of course with the great filemanager we a re threatening now

    Long live DirOpus!!!

And...Why ultimately all of my Installer programs failed when i try to install things like MUI classes and lately this Dir Opus 4.16 filemanager version?

There's no such thing as an "Amiga 1200 AGA version" of programs like Directory Opus.

Yes, of course. That's how you can run ARexx scripts on MorphOS, after all :-) This works for almost all system-friendly m68k software.

Depends on the error message. You can try InstallerLG, which is said to be more compatible in certain situations.

[/That's the same version I have already installed on my Morphos's HD named as Dir Opus 4.17.

Where can I download versions 4.16 or 4.18 of Dir Opus? I have 4.17 installed but it has serious bugs like when the pointer freezes a lot on the utility.

    Hope someone can help me?

All the best for me and my Dir Opus 4.17 and the rest that you can send me via link a download to a better version

You wrote about Version 4.16 (4.17) and asked for 4.18, because you don't have it !!
This is now version 4.18 and on my system it doesn't crash (except fonts-prefs - as I wrote before).
If this version crashes too, then something of your installation of DOPUS or MorphOS is faulty.

OK but what could be faulty on a Morphos installation?

FYI there is a Director Opus 5.92 that is a MorphOS version out in the wild somewhere. I never really used DOPUS so I don't know the differences between 4 and 5, but since there are native MorphOS versions they might work better... I still use filer, lol...

In my experience, DOpus users either like original DOpus (v4) or DOpus Magellan (v5). There's almost no overlap ;-)

I'm not sure if that 5.9x MorphOS version is worth to try... last time I tried it years ago it was pretty unfinished and crashy, and Itix hasn't been around to continue with it. I'm still using the original 5.82 68k version myself in my daily setup.

But yeah, v4 and v5 are like night and day, totally different :) I could never go back to v4 once I learned v5 properly, but some people just don't bother and think vice versa :P

    hi

I m using both Dopus. Dopus 4.18 with ConfigOpus 4.17a (don t crash, maybe sometime, also fonts can i choose).
And Dopus5 Magellan i m using 5.91 68k version. Thats my main File Manager, use every day, no problems, only if i want configure one stuff on more times, because i m not always satisfied with results, i need to go to the same setting again and sometime system freeze, or Application is not responding.
