Help: Image editing on MOS

    Hi, I dont' know much about image editing but from time to time I need to do some basic stuff. Usually, I connect to my RPi and use Gimp for that. There is a lot of info and tutorials on how to do things with Gimp on the web.

    Now, I would like to use the available programs on MOS for image editing and painting. I have installed:

    fxPaint Lite 2.0
    GrafX2
    Griboullis
    ImageFX 4.5
    Paint 0.63
    TVPaint 3.59
    Sketch

    But finding tutorials for those is not as easy. And as mentioned before, I don't know much about graphics.

    So I thought starting a thread here to ask for help on specific taks, hoping someone can help.

    This is my first task.

    I have 2 images, picture01.png and picture02.png, each 200x200 pixels. I need them combined into 1 image of
    400x200, picture01 on the left and the other on the right.

    How can I do that using the listed programs or any other that can be installed on MOS?

    Edit: got it with imagemagick:
    Code:
    convert picture01.jpg picture02.jpg +append out.jpg

    Still, would be nice to know how to do it with a GUI program.

    Bonsoir,
    On peut le faire facilement avec FXpaint :

    - Charge tes 2 images de 200 x 200
    - Clique sur le premier icone en haut à droite pour créer une image vide
    - Renseigne le nombre de pixel désiré. donc ici 400 X 200 et clique sur Create
    - Clique sur l'image
    - Clique sur l'icone FX et choisis "Compose" dans le menu déroulant
    - Clique sur "Compose" dans la liste
    - Clique sur "Options", la fenêtre Compose s'affiche.
    - Clique sur "2nd picture" et choisi l'image que tu veux insérer
    - Clique sur "Perform"
    - Clique sur le "8ème icone" (après les 2 icones loupe)
    - Clique sur l'icone "FIX"
    - Clique sur "2nd picture" et choisi l'image que tu veux insérer
    - Clique sur "Positioning mode"
    - Clique sur "Perform"
    - Clique sur le "8ème icone" (après les 2 icones loupe) et repositionne l'image ou tu veux
    - Clique sur l'icone "FIX"

    Voilà c'est fait (désolé, je ne parle pas anglais)

    If you wanted to understand what "ze_bucheron" stated in English then that's:

    Eh, Voilà - in English, if that makes it any easier for anyone else also, and thanks as well to "ze_bucheron" for the tutorial, 8-)

    However, I should add that the above tutorial didn't seem to do what it is supposed to do with fxPaint v2.2 Lite, but maybe you need a full version and not just the Lite edition to accomplish the task.

    A program that offers this functionality is RNOEffects, with the Image Joiner option from the Tools > Image Joiner (Cmd+J) menu, which did offer quite a few options and work for me in creating images that were joined side by side or underneath one another, so that's another option.

    I just couldn't get fxPaint v2.2 Lite to do what is mentioned in the instructions by "ze_bucheron", but I just hope other users manage to get them to do what it is supposed to, if so that's fantastic, but I just didn't find the instructions worked for me with the version of fxPaint I have access to right now. 8-D

    Yes, indeed :) You can achieve image combining in every image processing program, but it's usually just too complicated (creating a new image and then copy&pasting smaller images in it etc), and that's why I included this option in my RNOEffects program.

    The philosophy behind the program is to be able to make certain things I need as easy as possible :) With the Image Joiner option you can also add space between images, define if the space is alpha transparent or filled with certain colour, or even apply any effects program offers to the images on the fly before joining them.

    En effet, le comportement de la version lite n'est pas vraiment celui de la version complète que j'utilise.
    J'ai donc téléchargé la version lite et j'ai fais une petite vidéo rapide. Ainsi, vous pourrez voir que ça
    n'est pas très compliqué, même avec la version lite.


    Indeed, the behavior of the Lite version is not really that of the full version I use.
    So I downloaded the Lite version and I made a quick quick video. So you can see that
    is not very complicated, even with the Lite version.

    Thanks for the translation and for reminding me of RNOEffects. I'll try it and also ze_bucheron posted later about fxPaint lite.

    Merci pour la vidéo. J'ai été capable de le faire avec la version Lite.
