    Hello!

I installed Gentoo Linux in my Pegasos 2, and it works cool. Just that I have 512M of Ram, so I would like to get rid of the mem=256M option ASAP...

Anyway, I tried "emerging" Mac-On-Linux, but I get a build error. Anyone has tried? Any idea? Maybe I am missing some package whose dependency is not resolved automatically by the portage?

    Thank you!

make shure to first Compile your own kernel and to have latest Kernel Modules installed.

then install Xfree-DRM and Alsa after
build mol and all should work fine :-)
i have 10.2 and 10.3 running fast on Gentoo..
also there is a Pre-Beta Patch for speed up
10.3 over 70% in Bitkeeper Mol......

I managed to install MOL. I installed alsa drivers, but, anyway, I don't get any sound in linux. What are the required modules for enabling sound on the Pegasos? My original config is from the bootable kernel for the Peg-2, from a link on linux.pegasosppc.com.

I want to create some partitions for Mac OS X. I use amiga-fdisk, but there is no HFS type :( Which is the partition code for HFS?

Finally, when will be able to use more memory in linux? I have to enable the kernel option mem=256M. But I have 512M....

    cya!

snd-via82xx is the name of the alsa driver to use. Just remember that all channels are muted by default by alsa. Personally I prefer using aumix, if you add it to runlevel default it will restore your mixer settings on reboot.

As for partitions, just set it as reserved or whatever, it doesn't really matter what type you chose as you will set it as a harddrive and not partition in MOL's config. A word of warning though, MacOS X 10.3 seems to require the partition to start in the first 8GB of the drive, otherwise it will not install.

Thank u! I will try now.
About the position of the partition... "seems" means "absolutely"? I'll have to repartition my disk again? .... ufff... Well, not so difficult to move data on the morphos side....

    BTW, what happened with the search engine in morphzone? I wanted to add a DVD drive to the supported DVD's list, but I can not find the thread.... ^^;

I created a reserved partition for the Mac after the boot partition. So, I have a 256M partition for booting morphos and gentoo (/boot) and then an 8G partition for Mac OS X.

I start the Mac OS X installer, and create a single partition (mac os x journaled), but I get the message "You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume. You cannot start up your computer using this volume". I tried making smaller partitions with the disk utility provided with the installer, but it didn't work. I can not get rid of the first partition, since I need it to boot gentoo and morphos...

    any idea?
    thanx!

    oh, i got it...
I had to add "-boot" option to that partition in /etc/mol/molrc.osx

Then, it complain about the 8G, so with disk utility, I divided it into 7G+1.23G, and installed in the 7G part.

    :-)
