As some of you might know theres this AVI4HV tool, which converts AVI videos to the HV format. Those videos then can be played on a 68k Amiga.

I wanted to ask if there's somebody interested and skilled enough to port that video converter to MorphOS.

The source codes (AVI4AGA.BAS and AVI4HV.BAS) are in the archive and its written in FreeBasic AFAIK. Shouldn't be much of a great deal ? dont know... but i would be really happy if could do all the work on my G5.

Here's the link to the archive:

    FreeBasic is slow.
Spreedy - The spreedsheet editor of MorphOS
Calimero - Do you know about the new DTP Program for MorphOS ?

Good thing it's not available on MorphOS then :-)
This is just like television, only you can see much further.

Of course not. You can port FreeBasic, or rewrite the utility in C.

But what should be the intention of the port? Afaik the Videos are coded for HAM6/8 Playback. What can MorphOS do with that on a ppc environment base? Or is the question about a port to MorphOS for Classic Amigas?

no it's about the video Converter not the player itself. so far you have to use windows or linux to do that.
