I want to get me a part off a mp3 song to use as a ringtone on my mobilephone.
Which program is best for this?
So loading the mp3 into the program ,selecting a part of it and saving the part as mp3 again.
    Thanks you.

If you do not need stereo, you can edit audio in DigiBooster 3 too (demo version is enough, sample editor is not limited in any way). However you have to decode your MP3 to WAVE or AIFF with LAME or Zormanita. Then after saving fragment in DigiBooster (as WAVE or AIFF again) you encode it back to MP3 with LAME.

    Ok thanks for the tips.
Hdrecord is not easy to get going, complains about libs missing..wizard and zlib and camd.lib.
But also found samplemanager which does what I need.
Imports .mp3 and can ? save sample as mp3 but that doesn't work for now.
Complains about stack size of minimum 15000 how can I change that?

I also use SampleManager for this purpose!
Set the stacksize in the .info file of SampleManager and then start it from WB/Ambient. You can also add it to the MimeType prefs of Ambient to start it with the mp3 file via the contextmenu.

If you start it from a shell, use "Stack 15000" before starting SampleManager.

    Try the command line tool:
    http://aminet.net/mus/misc/cutmp3-bin-m68k.lha

    copy bin/cutmp3 and bin/sh to sys:c/

open a shell window to the drawer with your mp3 file and
    type something like this:

    cutmp3 -i Donots_-_Das_Ende_der_Welt_ist_längst_vorbei.mp3 -a 0:37 -b 0:50 -O Ende.mp3

    thats all.

The link has some trailing HTML tags embedded. Either delete these in the URL field at the error page, or simply click the logo image.

I love Audacity, I use it a lot!

If a MorphOS/MUI port could be done by someone, I would be very happy!

MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

Hi, I made a quick port of version 2.1.1, its about 3 times faster than 68k version!
Playing seems to not work, I can't hear anything;)
    But cutting works;)
    cutmp3 v2.1.1 MorphOS

Now I ported current v3.0.1 of cutmp3 and made some changes to be able to play (using c:Play;) the current part of a mp3, when in editing mode!

Specifying new id3 tags works, but you don't see what you are typing;)

    Grab it here:
    cutmp3 v3.0.1 MorphOS

Maybe I do a muigui for this...

cool a native port of this cutting toy was what I have been looking for.
I used this tool a lot when i had linux as my main system years ago.
Gui version would be even better - but the command line is quiet easy
to handel :-) and its ultra fast as well!

    thx igracki
