    Hi

I just would like to inform that I just tried my scanner with a scsi-card and with ScanQuix. And it works great in MorphOS :-)

Also STFax works great, modem connected to the internal serialport, and also possible to use ScanQuix to make fax in an easy way from within STFax.

My scanner worked well on my Amiga1200 with Squirrel SCSI interface using Betascan software, even when running MorphOS...

Damn, I need SCSI for my Pegasos...

Maybe that, my scanner isn't USB ?

What is wrong with knowing, whether SCSI scanners work or not ?

    Hi

Well, I was not trying to say it is something wrong with USB ;-) it certainly isn't...

I didn't even mentioned anything at all about USB in my post :-)

I just thought someone perhaps would like to be interrested in knowing that those things I wrote about works fine ?

    Greetings !

    Hi magnetic

The card is called, CI-2520 PCI Fast Scsi-II Host-adapter.

    It uses Symbios 53C810 chip.

Some info on our webpage here.

Have some on stock for sale also.

If you are interrested in getting a batch of them, send me an email.

    Hi

An update on this matter also, that I would like to point out.

The text we have is in swedish. The specifications for the card says it is without bootchip (and it is), and therefore not possible to boot from.

However in the Pegasos I can se units I have connected to the card, right now I only have a scanner connected, but i can see this in the open firmware prompt.

Therefore I believe it should also be possible to boot the Pegasos from a disk connected to this card, as you probably also then can read the disk from open firmware.

Have to try out this little later.

Well, could also mention this here...

I've tested scanning on my Amiga1200 with Agfa Snapscan scanner connected to Squirrel SCSI interface when running MorphOS 0.x. Worked fine.

    Jupp3:

Yes, the squirrel was a very good expansion to the Amiga 1200. However not possible to boot from anything connected to this, as you had to load the driver for the device from disk before possible to access anything connected to the device.

All phase5 earlier cards (that I remember) had drivers in firmware, and therefore possible to boot from.

And with this scsi-card it should also be possible to boot the Pegasos.

Its not possible to boot the Pegasos from any USB-device yet as what I know, the driver is loaded from disk. I haven't got any success to see any USB-devices from open firmware yet... ;-)

    TFTP-boot could perhaps work ?

    Update here.

Now tried, and it works just fine to boot from a disk connected to the card in the Pegasos.

Remember it will not work to boot from this card in a PC, if its not possible to read drives from the firmware.

So its a special feature just on the Pegasos... ;-)
