Though it's a news item I wanted to highlight it, since IMHO it's pretty cool (and works rather well here ;).

    Original news post:

Filip "widelec" Maryjański of the BlaBla group released some days ago new KwaKwa module capable of operating which GTalk network.
    Module require CyaSSL.library.
    GG Module was also improved

I've installed it, but as soon as I open the Settings window it feezes. I can't select or change anything and can't even close the setting's windows. All other opened programs work, but kwakwa does nothing :(

    Edit:
    Snoopium logshows lots of fails.

Have you installed all other stuff like cyassl.library, ezxml.library etc as looks like it's missing? Do you have jabber.module installed? Make sure your TextEditor.mcc is showing version number 15.45 as others are not supported.

    Great news!

However, is there any possibility that someday we will get im for Skype? Without Voice/Video support, just chatting. There was a beta version of Miranda IM+ with partial support in the past. Perhaps we could succeed achieving something similar?

I was just talking with widelec (KwaKwa's author) and he didn't say no ;) So he will look around what can be done with Skype implementation.

Thanks, that would be awesome! Frankly after MS ditched MSN protocol and fully migrated to Skype, I stopped being able to chat with most of contacts under MorphOS :/ Skype is more popular, at least in the part of the world, over to ICQ or IRC channels.

Actually, it was the other way round. Microsoft ditched the old Skype protocol and fully migrated Skype to the MSN protocol.

Yes, I have installed cyassl.library and ezxml.library, both in Libs:; and also GG, Jabber and GTalk modules. But I have TextEditor 15.46. Could that be the cause? If so, how to revert to 15.45?

    Hello!

A bit out of the thread, but...

Mr Yomgui sends a message on http://www.meta-morphos.fr/viewtopic.php?topic=1639&forum=52 (in french) , about a comm' software on witch he works and "just" needs an up to date MorphOS C++11 with "std::thread" in order to be ported on our OS...

If someone wants to test it (ß for now), it's already able for Linux and MacOSX, and soon Android...

The website for this interesting piece of software: http://ring.cx/ .

    Amigan salutations.

An updated SDK with gcc 4.8.2 and cx11 support would be very cool.
It brings alot of cool new features like threading,
    lambdas, regex and much more.
    regards

    Thanks.

Downloaded and replaced, but same thing. I've also left empty WBStartup drawer in case something there could be causing the problem but no change.

What Snoopium says this time? Are you sure you've installed all files needed?

Also, does debug log say anything?

It is working now. I did a fresh installation of MorphOS and it is working now. I'll try not to mess with my system this time.
    Thanks for your time.

Anynone been succesfull in using Jabber ?
    I installed KwaKwa, put jabber.module to modules/ ,
copied ezxml.library and cyaSSL.library to libs:

    Created an acoount at jabb3r.org.

Added myuserid@jabb3r.org and the appropiate password to KawKwa->Settings->Jabber , saved and restarted.

But always get a "couldn't connect" error. without further detailed info.

when using the same username and password with one of the existing web based jabber clients however, it works as exsoected !

Any idea what's going wrong ? Depspite Jabberwocky, KwaKwa doesn't log xml communicaton between client and server.
Is it maybe using a specific port that I ought to open in my router's firewall?

Does this Jabber server requires SSL? Because so far jabber module doesn't support SSL connections.

    hmm, according to this:

    https://jabber.hot-chilli.net/server-specifications/

    seems so....

I didn't even think of this as a possible cause, because there's cyaSSL.library....

Please try update jabber.module from here: http://blabla.ppa.pl/download/jabber.module-1.1.lha. Just in case if it doesn't work please make sure to put the jabber server name manually in settings.

    :D
I had to set servername manually, but now it works !! And as this server uses the latest jabber protocol with most strict rules it probably is very likely it works with many other servers too now.

At least a working jabber client for MOS ! (Jabberwocky never really worked for me).
    Thanx a lot !!

Just a pity, Facebook will close their XMPP access by end of this month...
