ambient default view

    I have selected 'icon' and 'all files' for my default view and unchecked 'inherit view mode'.

    I still get 'icons' and 'icons' every time I open a window.

    What gives?

    p.s. On bootup my panels are always open.
    Anyway to save them as being closed until I need them?

    I found a checkmark called 'autozipping' under panelprefs that does close to what I want.
    Rolls up the panel when not in use.
