Hi, i have problems with the samba installation ...

(I have no idea and I'm newbie ...)

    Samba Version 3.0.4 ->
    http://aminet.net/comm/tcp/samba-3.0.4-morphos.tgz

    MorphOS Version 3.2

    --- Readme ---

    Short installation notes:

    1. Unpack the archive into your amitcp: driectory, if you are running
another tcpip stack make a assign to the directory of your choise.

    2. Add sbin/smbd and sbin/nmbd to your inetd.conf

    3. Edit the samba configuration file smb.conf placed in samba/lib.

    ---

In the "inetd.conf" under Env-Archive/sys/net/ I have the entry

netbios -ssn stream tcp nowait root NetWork:samba/bin/smbd smbd

    commented out ...

    ... what should I enter in the "inetd.conf" ?

... in which Directory must i copy the Samba Folder ?

I recommend putting the smb statement in your s:network-startup with a 'wait 3' before it. You might need to experiment with the amount of waiting time to give the mossys:s/network-startup time to fully initialize the network connection.

You don't put a wait in front of it.
After the line ";Start services", the network is up.

Copy smbfs to C: then put something like this into network-startup:

    RUN > NIL: STACK 50000 SMBFS VOLUME=PC: CACHE=1024 Workgroup=WORKGROUP User=username Password=password Service=//computername/SharedDocs

Certainly the Pc has to be up and running for this line to succeed.
You can also put that line into a text file, save an icon for it, set the S flag and start it when needed by a mouse click.

Perhaps on your machines you don't have to put a wait but on mine one certainly has to.
