    Hi All,

I've been trying in vain to get PageStream 4 installed on my new MorphOS Mac Mini. The installation script fails with "error in line 327. Unknown command 'option'" or something like that. When I install things myself, the program fails to start, but with no errors. Snoopium shows me this:

I have the assigns AND copied the libraries to libs.

I really need some word processing/DTP here.

    Any ideas?

Thanks, Matt, that did the trick.

I've been using PageStream for years on Amithlon without problems. I even paid for the ver. 5 which hasn't done more than crash. Besides the rather ugly interface, I still find it a great program.

What dedicated word processors are people using on MOS?

I bought the MOS version 5 like you, they made me so many promises on how great it was going to be and that it was going to be updated. What a joke, look at it as a donation...

I use final writer, have for 20 years or so... Works great... I'm not sure what you mean by dedicate. FW is a 68k app...

    Have fun!

I believe there should be a dir inside the pagestream dir where the libs are copied to.
Called softlogik if i am not mistaken.

What I meant by "dedicated" is a program for word processing only. I could use Pagestream for that task, but it's not the most agile system for entering text and the like. I copied over my FinalWriter and it works pretty well. I've found it hard to get a good view of the document without the text looking pretty bad and opening it on any other screen than Workbench hasn't worked very well (very bad colors).

Now that PageStream loads up, I've found that it seems to work just fine except for ONE BIG EXCEPTION: Text highlighting doesn't show up! That is to say, when you drag the cursor over some text (as to change the font or size), it doesn't show the highlighting!

How is your PageStream working? What screenmode and resolution? Bits?

OK... About PageStream... I changed the screenmode to 16bit AND added 72 to the X and Y dpi measurements. The text highlighting works like a charm now!

    Doesnt googledocs work in OWB?
Ok not the greatest wordprocessor but if you need compatibility.
There is also the 68k version of Arnor protext released for free a google should pick it up.

I thought i read it somewhere maybe amiga future magazine.

Google Docs works in OWB for creating a new doc from scratch. The 'Upload' button sends you to some Flash-based uploader that doesn't work. So much for editing documents from my hard drive!

After fiddling around with FinalWriter, I was able to get the text to look decent enough on my monitor. For my screen resolution, I'm using a 140 dpi for X and Y and a magnification of 100%. Looks better than it did initially.
