    Hi,

I cannot boot from usb on a PowerMac G5. After following the usb-boot instruction and entering
    Code:
    boot usb2/disk@2:,\boot.img umsd0:morphos.iso<ENTER>
When I hit enter then nothing happens. Is there a way I can diagnose this?

Actually after hitting the enter, the cursor moves one position then nothing happens!
    Thanks.

Are you sure you've copied the boot.img from the mac_ppc64 directory on the ISO? You can likely simplify the command by booting:

    boot ud:,\boot.img bi umsd0:morphos.iso

(I see you've also omitted 'bi' in the cmdline above)

Yes. (it was a typo here) I did not forget the "bi".

What model of PowerMac G5 do you have?
What graphics card do you use?

    Hi,

I get: can't OPEN the DIR device
Perhaps I did something wrong to the USB stick!

    Any ideas?

    THANK YOU ALL. IT WORKED.

    WHAT DID NOT WORK:

    1. I formatted 4x USB sticks (1.0 and 2.0) with sizes between 1GB,2GB,8Gb,16GB on an Intel Mac and FAT32 partition. None of them worked!

    2. I created a 2GB partition on an external HD connected with USB 2.0. It did not work

    WHAT WORKED:

    1. I formatted a 4GB (USB 2.0) stick with Windows and FAT32. AND IT WORKED.

    MY NEXT STEP:

Spend countless hours installing and perhaps even developing software for morphos.

    Nice.
You can download this morphos pack or individual programs from morphos-storage.
MorphOS is a great system to enjoy.
