Hmm, well, it's more that it rarely boots in anything BUT the black screen. But not when booting from the install CD, which is weird. Still with the same Apple keyboard..
Then again, using a more modern keyboard is much better anyway, so, all in all, pretty good I'd say :)
I had that same problem on couple of setups... it stops to the black screen and the boot image doesn't appear. One setup didn't boot practically ever, one booted sometimes and sometimes didn't. And both booted if I changed something in the USB setup. So it does sound pretty similar in your case, and this is the bug that will be fixed in 3.13. Meanwhile you can use 3.11 or change the hw combination so that it works. When booted from the CD it boots much slower and timings are totally different than booted from the HD.

Now lets see what MorphOS is like compared to AmigaOS on my A4000 :)
Remember to check all the system settings etc, and tune them for your liking. The default setup is far from what I like, and not quite Amiga way either. Check for example the
Getting Started article to notice few points. In any case you can get it to work pretty much like the old systems, but when you learn few more modernized things, you might not want to get it that much to the "oldskool" state, but start utilizing the new things... and then it's hard to get back to the A4000 in productivity use ;)
