    Hi Folks,

I wonder if there is any possibility in MorpOS to slice on of my partitions to 2 partitions.

it is a 64GB empty partition that I have not started to use that I like to slice into 2 partiitons/disks.

    Thanks for helping me out

    /Tomas

You can do that but why would anyone do that?
    1 + 1 = 3 with very large values of 1

I need 20 GB free on its own partition to be able to install MAC OSX there so I can 2 do things:

    1) Pair my BT Keyboard - not possible in MorphOS and the keyboard lost connection when running UBUNTU 12.04 from CD

    2) Turn of the start chime has been unsuccessful with many of the tips of SUDO commands both in Ubuntu and OSX, best option to me is to install the startupsound.panel OSX to mute the start up chimes but yet keep regular volume on.

    3) If lossing keyboard again I do not want to go through the 6 hours spent so far to resolve it - instead I need an OSX installation next to MorphOS to resolve when needed

    4) the remaining 44 GB I will keep formatted for MOS

    BTW I have a MacMini 1.5Ghz

Can you tell me if I can partition the 64GB partition into 2 slices in MorhpOS?

    Best regards

    Tom

If you don't need MacOS very often, it's better to install it on external drive or stick (USB)...

Boot from external USB: boot ud:,\\:tbxi

    Otherwise:

Partitioning HD use HDconfig in Tools-directory - it is self-explaining.
For Mac-partition use HFS - filesystem.

Thanks Harry, I got the partitions settled now. I found it to be easier to have OSX on a 20GB partition so I can easier pair the keyboard and use the Startupsound muting plugin, if they would be lost again on MOS I can quickly run OSX and fix it.

BTW do you have a link or tip for how to place MOS as the primary OS to load so I dont need to use the ALT key. I remember I managed to put MOS first on my previous MacMini ;)

right now OSX is first and MOS second

Thanks for all your help and patience. I have had to spent many hours to resolve my problems but now I am close. I just need to get the Drawers and ICONS/shortcuts to work like I want to to feel at home.

    Kind regards

    Tom

If your MOS-Bootdevice is the first partition of your first HD (should be default) then type in Open Firmware:

    setenv boot-command boot hd:,\\bootinfo.txt

(You can see default values of environment variable by entering printenv)

If your boot-files (boot.img, bootinfo.txt, etc.) are located on another partition, you have to find out the numer of it (partitions are counted 0,1,2,3.....). Now you have to insert right partion-number to OF-command above:

    setenv boot-command boot hd:x,\\bootinfo.txt where x = partition number

    That should work now.

    Second way:
If you want to have a bootmenue like pegasos-computers, it's a bit more tricky, but than you can boot from every device (even USB)
pressing a key during OF-startup. Let me know if you want that....

Hi Harry, It was No#3 and it works. Many thanks,

Do you by any chance know how I can make the drawers "show all files" all the time. I seem to have to select view all files over and over every time I enter a drawer. I recall this was fairly easy and possible but cant remember how,

    Thanks ;)

Add icon to dedicated drawer, select "show all files" (or whatever) and snapshot! :)
