Is it possible to load a .device file after boot? If so how would i achieve that?

It's not a USB device so AddUSBHardware isn't the right tool; although it loads it and mostly works it causes a stack dump that I'm pretty sure is due to it trying to enumerate a non existent piece of usb hardware.
