Dual boot on X5000

    Hey!

I tested MorphOS on my X5000 through the live DVD and I am really impressed.
(OK, 90% of that is because of the new WayFarer browser, but still ...)

I want to install it and get a proper license, but I also want to keep my OS4.

How would I setup a dual boot system?
Is it just a matter of popping in another SSD and hope that I select the right one while installing, or do I have to switch the drive (or the cable) every time I want to switch OS?

Using a separate drive for each OS is the safe way to go. In theory, even installing both to separate partitions on the same drive should be possible*, but doesn't seem to go as smoothly in practice.

I use two drives myself. I am stuck with a GPU that only works with OS4 and one that only works with MorphOS, so I dont use MorphOS much on mine. I prefer the G5 machine. What GPU are you using to support them both? I am still looking for a good solution that will run them both well.

You could do like me and get and external enclosure with GPU and a really big hot wired external switch.

Just kidding, I’ve never found a way to do this.
