I just installed the Chrysalis.iso because of the fun software included. Now my youtube videos are pretty much not playing. Is there a way to play youtube videos with Mplayer. Externally without using OWB? I was thinking in the lines of https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/ . Which is how I watch my videos on other OS's.

There has been several scripts for that (GetVideo, Tubexx...), but since the YouTube defaulted to the HTML5 and made several changes once again, they haven't kept updated lately. I still would like to see GetVideo updated to current YouTube behaviour even though OWB plays them mostly, but well...

But to why your OWB doesn't play them anymore... check if Chrysalis still had Youtube HTML5 Converter script enabled, and disable it if it is, because it's not needed anymore. You only should have the Youtube Fullscreen Fix enabled (and the latest version of it).

There is a recent ARexx script for this purpose:

An older version has been adapted to MorphOS:

Interesting union of Programs + script.

I encountered some problems installing it as instructions are very poor and do not indicates all dipendencies, but at leat I managed installing it.

I encountered some bugs too, ad example shell the search script s:yt-search returns me a blank search window with the text "FLF" on the first linand not list of videos.

Main script yt.rexx founds lots of videos but allows me playing only first one, that is usually a video I have no interest in it.

    1 closed captions found:

    Enter number of language
    or press enter to skip:

How can I make yt.rexx allowing me select different videos?

At least context menus in OWB work flawlessly.

In the end these are my conclusions:

Interesting program but still not mature.

It will be a great advancement if it could work as AmigaOS4 QT program called SMTube or our MorphOS defunct TubeXX that allowed see full list of videos complete with thumbnails images.

It will be also more useful if it could work with sites of legal streaming like Daisuki.net (that works with flash videos) sniffing automatically from where remote links Daisuki gets the flash streaming and allow to play it flawlessly.
