Yeah, that YouTube sign in problem has been there for a while now. I don't know why it stopped to work.. it used to work. It would be really nice to find a solution for it.

Read this to get a faster playback on YouTube:

Dang, youtube signin that's a bummer.

Anyway, I updated OWB and set the scripts and it seems to play a little better now. I will take a look at the link you provided when I get home. Hopefully it will improve it some more.

OK, I have the fullscreen script installed and active. But, I am still having serious problems with youtube. The video playback on the lowest resolution is very poor, fullscreen is absolutly not an option. I mean that it isn't an option, when I try to go fullscreen I get a little popup that says "Fullscreen not available" Also, youtube itself loads very, very slow. this is with my eathernet connected directly to the laptop and not using wireless. I double checked the script settings and I can see the fullscreen script there and the enabled box is checked.

I'm just tying to give as much info as I can so that I can get help with this. Being able to at least play youtube videos is a must for me, even if I can't login.

That little "fullscreen not available" popup doesn't matter, it should still work on MorphOS no matter what YouTube tries to tell you. Assuming that you have the latest youtube fullscreen fix script enabled.

It still sounds for me that you haven't got the very latest fullscreen fix script from Fab's page. Currently the script which comes with the OS is outdated, and the script from Grunch is outdated, you have to manually download and install the latest one to get the smooth playback.

Difference is like day and night when you play in the fullscreen mode compared to the normal embedded mode. You'll notice it when you have it working.

And remember that don't click the fullscreen button before the actual video playback has started. It doesn't work if you click it when the loading circle is still there. Only when you see the actual video image.

I really don't know what I am doing wrong. I downloaded the fullscreen script from http://fabportnawak.free.fr/owb/scripts/YouTube_Fullscreen_Fix.js and that is what I have in OWB/Scripts and it is enbled. But I can't get full screen no matter what I do. I am not sure what I am missing.

I removed the scripts and reset them in the gui, one at a time. Now at the bottom of OWB I can see an icon that tells me what scripts are running. And indeed I can now click on a video and open a larger window, still not full screen, and it plays better. So, progress is being made.

    Well that explains that.

Overall Websurfing seems be to ok, in MorphOS. Not as good as I had hoped. There is the whole YouTube, can't sign in thing, and the non standard way you have to go to view video on youtube. And OWB is just slow. It loads all my websites, facebook, gmail, syfy.com, arstechnica. But slow, so slow.

For me it works better with the flash plugin and html5 off in YT. It doesn't look as good as the screen size get smaller, but playback is better.

I think the main problem is actually psychological. We expect better quality nowadays than the single CPU can provide. It would have been a different story in 2009.

What I usually do is to use the download script and download the clips (or use Clipconverter, google it). That way you get better quality. I just check and see if the clips are worth it at YT.

@ Yasu, you could be a little right. The only thing I can respond to with that is when I still had MacOS 10 on this I used Safari to surf and view youtube and the video was much better in MacOS. Also the speed of surfing was better, pages loaded and rendered faster. All on the same hardware, so I do know that this hardware can do it.

But wouldn't it be nice to have MorphOS on this: http://www.powerpc-notebook.org/en/

Come on, this is an Amiga like OS developed by a small group doing it mostly because they love Amiga and this environment. Its a million timrs better than OS4. 1 and a whole lot of other systems on PPC.

Oh come on, indeed. I haven't used an Amiga in almost 25 years. I have never even seen OS 4 in person, never mind used it. So, I really have no idea what Amiga OS 4 or MorphOS can do. I am only saying that I know the hardware can do it, so my performance quirks are not due to the hardware. I will not know what the limitations of MorphOS are until I start to explore them. I am simply eliminating the hardware as being the cause. Also, OWB seems to really be the only software giving any real problems at all. All the other software I have tried has been great. I am still hoping there are ideas out there that I have not heard of yet to improve things.
