Is anyone here using Hollywood4 scripting language to create new apps, or games on MorphOS2.x?

I bought version 2 over a year ago (not sure exactly when it was released, or when I bought it), but I have never taken the time to learn or use it. It does look like a good product and I am planning on using it in the very near future, but I wanted to find out if anyone here has updated from version 2 to 3, or even to the latest version 4, and if the changes are worth the price to get the upgrade? I almost upgraded last night, but then thought staying up almost all night and then ordering things online that cost over $130 is not the smartest thing to do without stopping, getting some sleep and then asking some questions the next day.

I want to support the software developers, but since I haven't used the original version of Hollywood2 and Hollywood Designer1.2 plus Malibu that I purchased over a year ago, I had better make sure that version 4 is going to be something I am going to get good use of in the future before spending more money.

So, again, anyone here using Hollywood, Hollywood Designer and if yse, what are you using it for and which version do you own and use? If you have used version 2 in the past and have upgraded to version 4, what are the benefits of version 4 that you think are the most valuable and useful to you?

I am using Hollywood 4 from time to time. I am not too experienced yet, but in general it s rather simple to use. I updated from 1.x (more or less) straight to 4 and that was a more than massive increase of power and performance. I guess the by far biggest update was from 1.9 to 2.0. That update changed a lot in the syntax and API. From 1.x to 2.0 was a hard step, since 2.x it is rather an evolvement. Hence my suggestion: Try out your 2.x copy. The basics should be more or less identical to 4.0. If you like it, update (there are update discounts). Hollywood is not suited for everything, but for very much. And it is rather easy to write your apps (at least compared to C/C++ which is (beside Matlab) the only language I have the qualification to comment on).
