I was able to get this to work by moving the workbench.library out of boot/extmodules. Before this I had the same results as you. Now, all of my SCSI and IDE drives work except for CD-ROM. Almost there!

*edit* SCSI CD-ROM works now too. I must have been trying to use a coaster instead of a CD earlier...
