Hi, I have installed MorphOS on my A1200 and put in the font fix and boy, does it run fast now, also I have 128mb RAM in there now which is good. My question is, when using AmigaOS, does the PPC sleep? I am guessing that the heat generated by the Blizzard is more when running MorphOS than when running AmigaOS, is that possible?

I can run AmigaOS for hours without a hitch, but MorphOS I can run for about 15 minutes then it gets hot and locks regularly. Good to play with for 15 minutes ;)

Well it is not only possible, but very likely that your ppc runs hotter with MorphOS or with any other PPC native OS, such as Linux or OS 4.0
With OS 3.x your ppc is nothing else like a "co processor" it will be used from time to time, whenever there is something to do. If there is no PPC operation it just idles.
With a ppc OS, your PPC becomes the main cpu, 68k is send to sleep. PPC has to do now everthing. So it is very likely everthing will get "hotter"

Well I watched your pictures right now.. you have everything in your original keyboardcase? No wonder you have temperature Problems ;)

Wow! You need to get a tower with some good air flow! I am 100% sure thats your problem. Since you have everything in your original case all you need to do is make a few mods to the tower. The only thing you will need to do is make a PSU hack and get an external keyboard adapter. Get USB and you can use any USB keyboard and mouse.

first of all, did you put a thermal paste between the PPC and the heater ??? because there is not !!!
is that you fan blowing well ?
Does your Bvsion is well cooled ?
Does your HDD (take of the plastic bag !!) is hot ?
Do you close the trap door ? -> let it open and rise up your 1200 of 2 cm.

A towered machine is sightly better and a stable 200/230w AT PSU too ! |ATX is not so good ! I got some 420w that juste output 4.72v when plugged with my peripherals ... that give me crash..)

whot! that HD in the plastic (demi-conductive) bag is, at least "worrisome"(?) if you ask me!

I have a small heatsync with thermal paste on the bvision and also tied on with a plastic tie just to be safe. This was better than no heatsync on bvision and *does* make some difference.

The harddrive does get 'hot' but works ok, honestly though it is now only 20gb and since I put it in a few years ago, now it is considered small capacity and maybe I can put 2.5" drive instead for less heat and power consumption but... Computer will not power up without 3.5" harddrive because I need the additional power provided by the additional PSU, I guess I can splice into floppy cable still for additional power.

yes, I close the trapdoor, it makes the whole desk HOT, but... it is a lot cooler with AmigaOS3.1 than with MorphOS. I really thought 060 would generate more heat than PPC.

If some good PPC card or Coldfire card comes for A1200, then will consider tower, but then can't run MorphOS on it if Coldfire :(

Very cool setup! Ultimate 1200 setup, IMHO :) But how is your system when running quake, amigamp and other software (that uses the ppc!)? Under Amiga Os...

Amiga Amp seems ok (flawless), other than a few library replacements I don't have much PPC software installed, haven't tried Amiga Quake on it either.

Ok, I would advice you to try quake or some of the hyperion game demos and see how it performs..

And you have to have the trap door open IMHO! And maybe add some small "blocks" under the A1200 to let the air escape..
